A little about this month’s performers:

SAMMATI
Sammati is proud to present American Tribal Style bellydance in the DC area. ATS utilizes a specific set of moves in order to facilitate improvisational performances. While not an authentic middle-eastern style of dance, the costuming and spontaneity of ATS transport the dancers and audience to another time and place. Come with us and enjoy “what might have been” on the Romany Trail.

EBONY
Ebony’s early dance influences include urban and electronic styles such as hip hop and house. She specializes in creating her own style of urban/electro fusion belly dance. Ebony performs regularly with Raqs Sahara and teaches beginner classes at Sahara Dance.

ROMKA
www.Romkadance.com
The word ROMKA’ was created by fusing the first syllable or Roma, or gypsy (Rom) with the last syllable of a darabu ka, a type of drum (ka). Thus began Romka’. Rooted in traditional belly dance, Romka’ fuses modern and traditional styles to excite and entertain. Members of Romka can be seen performing at Shisha Lounge in Sterling, VA.

Asylum's awesome vegan and vegetarian menu can be found on their webiste: www.asylumdc.com!
